Practical automation help for credit unions
Credit unions often have no shortage of technology.
What they lack is the time and specialized expertise to turn that technology into better operational processes.
CU Logics helps credit unions identify manual work that should be automated, improve existing workflows, and build practical solutions using tools such as Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Fiserv systems, APIs, scripts, and AI where it makes sense.
My focus is on practical implementation—not just recommendations.
There are two primary ways to get started.
Automation Opportunity Review
Find the work your employees should not have to be doing manually.
If you know there are processes that could be improved but are not sure where to begin, the Automation Opportunity Review provides a focused starting point.
I work with your team to examine selected operational processes, identify automation opportunities, and prioritize them based on potential value and implementation complexity.
You receive an Automation Opportunity Roadmap showing what I believe is worth tackling first.
The standard review includes:
- A preparation worksheet
- Kickoff and discovery
- Up to three process-owner or department interviews
- Review of up to three operational areas or workflows
- Identification and prioritization of automation opportunities
- A written Automation Opportunity Roadmap
- A findings and recommendations meeting

Fractional Automation Partner
Add automation expertise without adding another full-time employee.
Some credit unions already know they have an automation backlog.
Reports need to be handled. Workflows need to be modernized. Employees are manually moving information between systems. SharePoint could be doing more. Operational projects keep getting pushed behind larger IT priorities.
As your Fractional Automation Partner, I become an extension of your team and provide ongoing, hands-on automation capacity.
Together, we maintain a prioritized backlog of worthwhile projects and continually move them from idea through implementation.
The standard engagement includes up to 25 hours of reserved consulting, development, and implementation capacity each month.
$5,000 per month

What I Help Credit Unions Automate
The technology varies from project to project. The common thread is reducing unnecessary manual work and improving the way information moves through the credit union.
Areas I commonly work in include:
Operational Automation
- Repetitive data-entry processes
- Reporting automation
- File and document processing
- Quality-control and review workflows
- Approvals and notifications
- Recurring operational tasks
- System-to-system data movement
- Lightweight internal applications
- PowerShell and API-based automation
Microsoft 365 & SharePoint
- SharePoint-based operational systems
- Workflow automation with Power Automate
- Microsoft Lists
- Forms and approval processes
- Document management
- Intranet and internal site improvements
- Teams and SharePoint integration
- Permissions and governance
- Modernizing spreadsheet- and email-dependent processes
Fiserv & Reporting Automation
My experience includes working with:
- Fiserv Portico
- Fiserv Loancierge
- Fiserv Reporting Analytics
- IBM Cognos Analytics
Past work has included automating report distribution, retrieving information from core systems, processing files, automating data entry, and connecting Fiserv-related processes with Microsoft tools and custom solutions.
Practical AI
AI can be useful, but it is not the answer to every automation problem.
I help credit unions identify places where AI can provide practical value within an operational process while considering security, privacy, governance, and appropriate human oversight.
That can include:
- Identifying low-risk AI use cases
- AI-assisted internal workflows
- Staff education
- AI usage guidelines and guardrails
- AI readiness discussions
- Executive and board briefings
Automation comes first. AI is one of the tools available when it is the right tool for the job.
What This Looks Like in Practice
Projects I have worked on include:
- Automating recurring report delivery from Fiserv Reporting Analytics / IBM Cognos into SharePoint
- Building an automated New Member Quality Assurance process
- Developing an internal document viewer
- Automating bulk retrieval of check images
- Automating payroll exception entry into a core processing system
- Creating SharePoint-based operational workflows and internal tools
One reporting automation initiative grew to automatically handle roughly 40 recurring daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
Who I Work Best With
CU Logics is particularly well suited to smaller and midsize credit unions that:
- Have more automation opportunities than internal IT capacity
- Do not have a dedicated automation specialist
- Depend heavily on Microsoft 365 or SharePoint
- Use Fiserv systems and have manual processes surrounding them
- Have operational projects that keep getting postponed
- Want practical solutions rather than another strategy document
- Need someone who understands both technology and credit-union operations
I work remotely with credit unions throughout the United States.
Not Sure Where to Start?
If you already have automation projects waiting to be built, the Fractional Automation Partner engagement may be the best fit.
If you know manual work is costing your employees time but are not yet sure what should be automated first, start with an Automation Opportunity Review.
Either way, the goal is the same:
Find work your employees should not have to do manually—and build a better way to do it.
