Fractional Automation Partner
Practical automation expertise without adding another full-time employee
Many smaller credit unions have no shortage of processes that should be automated.
The problem is finding someone with the time and experience to actually do it.
As your Fractional Automation Partner, I work as an extension of your team to identify, prioritize, build, and improve automations that reduce manual work, improve consistency, and free your staff to focus on work that requires human judgment.
This is not just advisory work. I get hands-on and build the solutions.
You probably already have an automation backlog
It may not be written down anywhere, but it is probably there.
Employees may be:
- Re-entering information from one system into another
- Downloading and distributing the same reports every day
- Moving documents manually between systems
- Maintaining spreadsheets that have quietly become business-critical
- Repeating the same review or quality-control process over and over
- Copying information from emails into other systems
- Performing tasks that everyone agrees “should really be automated someday”
Those are exactly the kinds of opportunities I look for.
What I can help with
My work typically includes:
- Operational process automation
- Workflow modernization
- SharePoint and Microsoft 365 solutions
- Report retrieval, processing, and delivery
- Quality-control and review workflows
- Document handling and distribution
- System integration through APIs, scripts, and file exchanges
- Lightweight internal tools
- Fiserv-related automation
- Power Automate and PowerShell solutions
- Practical uses of AI where AI is actually the right tool
The goal is not to automate everything.
The goal is to find the work where automation can meaningfully save time, reduce errors, improve service, or make employees’ jobs easier.
Credit-union experience matters
I have spent years solving operational problems inside credit unions, including projects involving:
- Fiserv Portico
- Fiserv Loancierge
- Fiserv Reporting Analytics
- IBM Cognos Analytics
- Microsoft SharePoint
- Microsoft 365
- Microsoft Teams
- Microsoft Exchange
Examples of past projects include:
- Automating recurring report delivery from Reporting Analytics / Cognos into SharePoint
- Building an automated New Member Quality Assurance process
- Developing an internal document viewer system
- Automating bulk retrieval of check images
- Automating payroll exception entry into a core processing system
- Building SharePoint-based workflows and internal operational tools
One reporting automation initiative eventually grew to handle roughly 40 recurring daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
How the partnership works
Your credit union reserves a portion of my monthly capacity for ongoing automation work.
Together, we maintain a prioritized backlog of opportunities and work through them based on business value, urgency, effort, and available capacity.
I can work directly with operations, IT, management, or individual departments depending on the project.
I am not there to replace your internal IT team. I work alongside them and take on automation and workflow projects that may otherwise remain stuck behind larger priorities.
What the first three months may look like
Every credit union is different, but a typical engagement may look something like this:
Month 1
Identify and prioritize automation opportunities, understand existing processes, and begin one or two useful quick-win projects.
Month 2
Complete initial automations, refine the backlog, and begin a larger operational improvement project.
Month 3
Continue implementation, document completed work, review results, and establish the next set of priorities.
The exact work will depend on your environment and needs, but the objective is simple: start producing useful results quickly while building a sustainable automation pipeline.
Monthly engagement
$5,000 per month
The standard engagement includes up to 25 hours of reserved consulting, development, and implementation capacity each month.
Engagements begin with an initial three-month term. That provides enough time to understand your environment, complete meaningful work, and determine whether an ongoing fractional relationship makes sense.
If a project requires more capacity than the standard monthly engagement provides, additional work can be scheduled separately.
Security and documentation
Work is performed within your credit union’s security, access-control, vendor-management, and data-handling requirements.
Solutions are documented appropriately so that your credit union understands what has been built and is not unnecessarily dependent on me to keep it running.
Who this is for
The Fractional Automation Partner model is especially useful for credit unions that:
- Know they have manual processes that should be automated
- Do not have a dedicated automation specialist on staff
- Have IT staff who are already stretched thin
- Use Microsoft 365 or SharePoint but are not taking full advantage of them
- Have recurring operational work that is too manual
- Need someone who understands both technology and credit-union operations
- Want someone who can move from identifying an opportunity to actually building the solution
It is particularly well suited to smaller and midsize credit unions where hiring a full-time automation specialist may be difficult to justify.
Not ready for an ongoing engagement?
You do not have to begin with a monthly partnership.
An Automation Opportunity Review provides a smaller starting point for identifying manual processes, workflow bottlenecks, and practical automation opportunities within your credit union.
The result is a prioritized list of opportunities you can use whether you decide to implement them with me, internally, or another way.
Let’s find the work your employees should not have to do manually
If your credit union has recurring processes that consume staff time, create unnecessary errors, or simply feel far more manual than they should be, that is a good place to start.
The first conversation is simply about what your team is doing today and where automation might make their work easier.
